About Me

My name is Lisa Johnson, and I am the owner of The BIN Movement Studio. My wellness journey has unfolded over many years, with twists, lessons, and growth along the way. While there are many chapters, I’ll begin here in 2004.
That year, I completed the Twin Cities Marathon after losing 120 pounds. Crossing that finish line sparked a deep passion for wellness and movement and inspired me to return to college. In 2010, I earned a degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Gerontology from Minnesota State University, Mankato. At the time, I believed that education and physical achievement might finally “solve” my struggles with weight. They didn’t—and over time, the weight returned.
In 2012, I had the opportunity to purchase the building that housed the St. Clair Fitness Center, anchoring me even more deeply in the world of fitness and community wellness. Still, it wasn’t until 2017 that a true shift occurred. When I discovered Bright Line Eating, the weight came off once again—but more importantly, the constant mental chatter around food finally quieted. For the first time, I experienced a sense of freedom and peace in my relationship with food.
In the spring of 2018, I stepped into what felt like a dream role at VINE Adult Community, returning to a place where I had previously completed an internship. Over the next eight years, I gained invaluable experience, continued my education, and deepened my passion for yoga and mindful movement. I earned my 200-hour yoga teacher certification in December 2024 and am currently working toward my 500-hour certification.
Today, my work is grounded in meeting people exactly where they are—with gentleness, compassion, and respect for each unique journey. Over time, the call to be self-employed and create something deeply aligned with my values grew stronger. With the loving support of family and friends, that vision became The BIN Movement Studio—a space rooted in mindful movement, nourishment, and belonging.
This is not the end of the story, but the beginning of a new chapter—one I’m grateful to share.
